Austin Ear Clinic Audiology & Auditory-Verbal Therapy
Kristen Armstrong, Au.D., FAAA
AUDIOLOGIST
Kristen's interest in Audiology stems from having a sister who
developed hearing loss as an infant, and a longing to help her stay ahead of the
best technology available. Kristen obtained her Masters Degree in
Audiology from the University of North Texas. In July of 2009, she completed
her Doctorate Degree in Audiology (Au.D.) through the University of
Pennsylvania. Before working at Austin Ear Clinic, Kristen worked for a private hearing aid practice for several
years fitting and dispensing hearing aids. While with the practice she
managed a satellite clinic in Georgetown. She joined Austin Ear Clinic in
January 2007. She administers neurodiagnostic testing (ABR, OAE, ECOG, VNG, ENOG), and also fits and
dispenses a wide variety of hearing aid types (including the new Lyric).
Amy Gensler, M.A., CCC-A, LSLS Cert. AVT
AUDIOLOGIST & CERTIFIED AUDITORY-VERBAL THERAPIST
Amy is a native Texan. She finished her Bachelors and Masters Degree in Audiology (with honors)
at The University of Texas at Austin. She then completed her clinical fellowship at Texas ENT
Consultants in the Houston Medical Center, where she was in charge of all neurodiagnostic
testing (ABR, OAE) and hearing aid fittings for infants and young children. She is currently the only
specialist in Austin and Central Texas who is certified to provide Auditory-Verbal Therapy (AVT) for children
with hearing loss. In July of 2009, she completed 3+ years of post-graduate work for her AVT certification
(throught the AG Bell Foundation's Academy for Listening & Spoken Language). Amy joined Austin Ear Clinic in 2002,
where she has been coordinator for all cochlear implant services. In addition to AV Therapy, she provides cochlear
implant programming and related services for patients from birth to 90+ years of age. She programs cochlear implants
for all three FDA approved manufacturers (Cochlear Americas, Advanced Bionics, Med-El). You can contact her by e-mail at: amylynngensler@yahoo.com
Nicole Davis, Au.D.
AUDIOLOGIST
Nicole completed her Audiology clinical doctorate from The University of Texas (at Austin) in May of 2010. She enjoys applying research with clinical applications
in order to provide the best practice approach to the patients. She administers neurodiagnostic testing (ABR, OAE, ECOG, VNG, ENOG), and also fits and
dispenses a wide variety of hearing aid types (including the new Lyric). Additionally, she believes the remarkable
advancements in hearing aids, such as the Lyric and open fit styles, have made amplification more convenient and comfortable than
ever before. Nicole also provides cochlear implant services (programming and troubleshooting) for patients from birth to 90+ years of age.
Dan Stover, Au.D.
AUDIOLOGIST
Dan graduated with his Bachelor's degree in Speech and Hearing Sciences from the University of Illinois at
Urbana-Champaign. He earned his clinical Doctorate in Audiology from the University of Texas at Austin.
He has developed a fervor for audiology as a result of his own hearing loss and use of hearing aids.
Because hearing aids have had such a profoundly positive effect on his quality of life, Dan considers fitting
others with superior amplification to be an extremely fulfilling and rewarding opportunity. He is always
looking for ways to learn and hone his craft so that he can help give his patients a better life through better hearing. In addition
to providing hearing aid services, he administers a variety of neurodiagnostic tests (ABR, OAE, ECOG, VNG, ENOG).
Aside from his aspirations to become the best audiologist he is able to be, Dan also loves food, travel, and staying active through sports and exercise.
